Ghanaians have expressed their strong disapproval and criticism towards Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Abetifi, for his recent statement about the NPP party&#8217;s determination to win power in the upcoming general elections.



 Acheampong&#8217;s remarks have sparked controversy and raised concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.During a campaign rally held in Nsawam, Bryan Acheampong boldly asserted that the NPP would do whatever it takes to retain power. He confidently stated that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) would not succeed in the forthcoming polls.

 Acheampong further emphasized that the NPP is well-prepared and has a competent team ready to employ all necessary strategies to secure victory on December 7, 2024.In his speech, Acheampong&#8217;s remarks were delivered with conviction, as he declared, &#8220;If you don&#8217;t understand, go and burn the sea. We will win the elections and continue the good works of the NPP.&#8221;This is not the first time that Bryan Acheampong has made such statements.



 Earlier this year, during a speech in Mpraeso, he exhibited the same level of confidence in the NPP&#8217;s ability to emerge victorious in the 2024 elections.Ghanaians, including some NPP sympathizers, have responded with criticism and outrage, accusing Acheampong of intentionally undermining the NPP&#8217;s chances of winning the upcoming December elections. Many argue that his remarks undermine the principles of fair play and democratic competition.

They believe that such statements can contribute to a toxic political environment and erode public trust in the electoral process.The backlash from Ghanaians stems from concerns about the integrity of the elections and the need for a level playing field.  Acheampong&#8217;s comments have raised doubts about the NPP&#8217;s commitment to these principles and have led to public scrutiny of the party&#8217;s intentions.As the general elections draw near, it is crucial for political leaders to exercise caution and responsibility in their public statements. Ghanaians are looking for leaders who prioritize the well-being of the nation and respect the democratic values that underpin the electoral process.
