In a shocking incident, Lillian Kumah, widow of the late John Kumah, a former Deputy Minister of Finance, became a victim of a brazen burglary at her home in Achimota-Mile 7, Accra. 



The burglary, which occurred on December 29, 2023, has left the community in shock and raised serious concerns about residents&#8217; safety and security.



Lillian Kumah is a respected figure in her neighborhood and has lived in her residence for several years. 



After the passing of her husband, who was a well-known politician under the current administration, Lillian continued to reside in their family home, filled with cherished memories and belongings.



On the day of the incident, an unknown intruder gained access to her home and stole an alarming array of valuable items, totaling approximately $50,000 and GHC50,000. 



Among the goods taken were an iPhone 15 Pro Max worth GH¢15,000, an Apple iPad valued at GH¢15,000, a Samsung Z Fold phone priced at GHC12,000, a Microsoft laptop costing GH¢7,000, a black school bag worth GHC400, and an Apple Watch. 



The thief&#8217;s actions left Lillian shaken and distressed.The police were quickly notified, and an investigation was initiated.



 By reviewing Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage, authorities identified two suspects: Adams Sanogo, a trader, and Rabiu Falilu, a Senior High School leaver. 



Both individuals have been arrested and charged with conspiracy and dishonestly receiving stolen goods. They have since been granted bail of GH₵200,000 each under specific conditions. 



However, law enforcement is still on the lookout for a third accomplice, Kwame Dunga, who remains at large.The burglary has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting many residents to voice their concerns over safety, particularly for vulnerable groups such as widows and the elderly.



 In response, community members are calling for enhanced security measures, including better policing and increased surveillance, to prevent future incidents and ensure the safety of all residents.
