Former Black Stars and international footballer, Samuel Inkoom has been charged for defrauding a student by an Accra Circuit Court. 



The 34-year-old is accused of collecting $3,500 from Benjamin Opare Addo under the pretense of securing a visa for travel to the Netherlands, but failed to fulfill his promise.



Inkoom pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail of GH¢50,000 with one surety. 



According to the prosecution, Inkoom, who claimed to be the owner of S. Inkoom Travel and Tour Company, convinced Addo that he could obtain the visa for the fee of $3,500.



Addo reportedly paid a total of GH¢32,100 in installments between September and November 2023. 



However, when Inkoom failed to deliver the promised visa, Addo reported the matter to the police.



Inkoom’s lawyer argued for bail, pointing out that the accused had refunded GH¢7,000 and was making efforts to return the remaining balance of GH¢25,100. 



The defense also highlighted Inkoom’s reputation and expressed confidence in his likelihood of returning for future court appearances.



Inkoom is scheduled to return to court on December 30, 2024, as the legal proceedings continue.
