President-elect John Dramani Mahama has expressed profound gratitude to God following his re-election in the 2024 Presidential Election. 



In a speech delivered after the announcement of his victory, Mahama acknowledged the divine guidance he received throughout his campaign and the renewed opportunity to lead Ghana.



Quoting scripture, Mahama stated, “Let me begin by thanking God, the creator of the universe for protecting and preserving us through this whole campaign period. 



I also give thanks to God for preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” He emphasized that the results of the election, as declared by the Electoral Commission, reflect one of the most emphatic victories in Ghana&#8217;s electoral history.



The Electoral Commission confirmed Mahama&#8217;s victory on December 9, with a total of 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the valid votes cast. 



He defeated his main opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who received 4,657,304 votes, or 41.61%.



In addition to his spiritual gratitude, Mahama expressed heartfelt thanks to the Ghanaian electorate for their overwhelming support. 



His victory not only signifies a personal achievement but also marks a significant milestone for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which secured a majority in Parliament.
