Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, will present his first national budget to Parliament on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. 



The budget is expected to outline the economic state of the nation and introduce key policy measures aimed at revitalizing and transforming Ghana’s financial landscape.



The announcement was made by Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, during a media briefing following the government’s inaugural Cabinet meeting. 



According to Kwakye Ofosu, the budget’s direction will be shaped by insights gathered from the National Economic Dialogue, scheduled for March 3 and 4, 2025.



A key focus of the budget is expected to be President John Mahama’s flagship 24-hour economy policy, spearheaded by Presidential Advisor Mr. Gossie Tandoh. 



The initiative aims to boost productivity, expand job opportunities, and drive economic growth by encouraging round-the-clock business operations across various sectors.



During the Cabinet meeting, Dr. Forson informed ministers that the country’s economic situation was worse than initially assessed before the 2024 elections, further emphasizing the urgency of the government’s economic recovery efforts.



In addition to the budget discussion, the Cabinet meeting covered other key issues, including national security, the agricultural transformation agenda, and the implementation roadmap for the 24-hour economy policy.
