Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has vowed to take legal action against individuals who mock her online and tarnish her brand for personal gain.



Since her mother’s funeral, the singer has faced heavy scrutiny on social media, with critics questioning her public displays of grief. 



Some netizens and bloggers ridiculed her for sprinkling powder at her mother’s grave, an act they deemed attention-seeking.



Appearing on United Showbiz, Empress Gifty issued a stern warning to those using her name for clout, making it clear that she would no longer tolerate online attacks.



Her frustration grew further after she made headlines for undergoing a facial cosmetic procedure. When some social media users claimed she looked worse without makeup, she responded in a viral video, stating:



“No makeup, of course, I am not wearing makeup. I will be taking legal action against those tarnishing my hard-earned reputation. I will issue a lawsuit against some people next week. In this year 2025, I will start making use of the law, and you people will start respecting the brand ‘Empress.’”



She further warned that those who continue to defame her would face legal consequences:



“You will be remorseful when my lawyers serve you. Right now, I am an orphan, so I won’t talk much.”



Her remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting her decision to protect her brand while others believe she is overreacting to public criticism.
