Former Dome Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has hit back at Mike Ocquaye Jnr for allegedly disrespecting her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, during his campaign.



Speaking on Movement TV, Adwoa Safo criticized Ocquaye Jnr’s remarks, where he allegedly compared their backgrounds, labeling her father as an &#8220;illiterate farmer.&#8221;



“He said my father stays in the bush and weeds there and hasn’t been to school before. If such words are used against you, would your church members go out and vote?” she questioned.



She warned that such comments would not be forgotten by her father’s followers, who hold him in high regard.



“My father is worshipped and respected, so if you don’t respect him, none of his church members would go and vote for you,” she added.



According to Adwoa Safo, Ocquaye Jnr’s attempt to contrast his father’s academic background as a professor with hers as a farmer’s daughter was an unnecessary and divisive tactic.



“Who would support you to enter parliament if this is the dirty campaign you are doing?” she asked.



She further advised Ocquaye Jnr to show humility if he hopes to win the Dome Kwabenya seat.



“If you don’t humble yourself before the people of Dome Kwabenya, you will contest a hundred times and still lose. The people there are not looking for your money,” she declared.



With tensions rising between the two politicians, Adwoa Safo’s response emphasizes the role of respect and humility in winning voter trust.
