Entertainment pundit Nana Frimpong Ziega has alleged that organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), Charterhouse, are pushing an agenda to favor King Promise over King Paluta for the coveted ‘Artiste of the Year’ title.



Speaking on NEAT FM, Nana Ziega expressed his displeasure, claiming that King Paluta’s hit song Makoma was deliberately sidelined in key award nominations, despite its massive success.



“The agenda to push King Promise for ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the TGMA will not succeed. We will not accept the notion that one must live in Accra to be eligible for the award,” he stated.



He further argued that the awards scheme seems to favor Accra-based artistes while overlooking those from other regions.



King Paluta’s Makoma gained widespread airplay and was even used by major political figures during the 2024 election period. However, according to Nana Ziega, the song was unfairly omitted from all four categories it was filed for, raising concerns about the transparency of the awards.



The entertainment analyst insisted that he and King Paluta’s supporters would not tolerate any bias and called for fairness in the award selection process.
